Playparks
Welshpool Town Council provides and maintains several playparks across the town, offering safe, fun and inclusive spaces for children and families to enjoy. Each park is designed to encourage active play, social interaction and outdoor learning for all ages.
Our playparks
- Maes y Dre Recreation Ground – A large, well-equipped play area within the main recreation ground, suitable for a wide range of ages with open green space nearby for games and picnics.
- Little Henfaes Drive – A popular neighbourhood park featuring modern play equipment and seating, ideal for families living on the western side of town.
- Burgess Lands – This site contains two separate play areas: one designed for infants and younger children, and another junior park with larger, more challenging equipment. Together they provide a great space for children to develop their confidence and skills as they grow.
- Dol y Felin – A family-friendly park in a quiet residential area, offering a variety of play structures and open space for free play and relaxation.
- Welshpool Country Park (by the Flash Leisure Centre) – A natural setting with play equipment, walking trails and access to the wider Country Park and lakeside paths.
Maintenance and safety
All playparks are inspected regularly by Welshpool Town Council to ensure they remain clean, safe and well maintained. Any equipment requiring repair is dealt with promptly, and we welcome reports from residents if you notice a maintenance issue or safety concern.
Enjoying our playparks
We encourage families and young people to make full use of these community spaces — whether for play, picnics, meeting friends or simply enjoying the outdoors. Please help us keep them clean by using the litter bins provided and respecting the equipment and surroundings.
