Young families invited to first cinema experience

  Published on 03 August 2026

Young families are being invited to enjoy a magical introduction to the cinema this summer as Welshpool Town Council launches a special 'My First Cinema Experience' at Welshpool Town Hall.

Taking place on Saturday 22 August 2026 from 10:00am, the event will feature a screening of Zog, the much-loved animated adaptation of the popular children's book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, followed by themed craft activities for children to enjoy.

Designed especially for children aged 7 years and under, the event provides a relaxed, welcoming environment where little ones can experience the excitement of watching a film on the big screen for the very first time.

As part of the UK Great Summer Savings campaign, tickets are just £2 per child, making it an affordable family activity during the school holidays.

Places are limited and advance booking is essential.
