Voucher design competition launched
Published on 12 August 2026
Welshpool Town Council is calling on local artists, residents, schools and community groups to help create the look of its new Welshpool Voucher Scheme.
The Council is inviting submissions for a design that captures the character, heritage and community spirit of Welshpool. The winning artwork will feature on vouchers that can be purchased and spent with participating businesses across the town.
The competition provides a unique opportunity for the community to be involved in a new initiative aimed at supporting local businesses and encouraging people to spend locally.
Mayor of Welshpool, Councillor Revd William Rowell said:
"We want the voucher scheme to have a strong Welshpool identity, and who better to create that than the people who live, work and study here.
We look forward to seeing a wide range of creative designs that showcase what makes our town special."
Designs may draw inspiration from Welshpool's landmarks, history, culture, events or surrounding countryside. Entries are welcome from all ages and abilities.
Full competition details, including entry requirements and deadlines, are available on the Town Council website and social media channels.
