Local businesses invited to join supplier list

Welshpool Town Council is inviting businesses, tradespeople and suppliers from Welshpool and the surrounding area to join its new Local Supplier Register.

The Council already works with many excellent local businesses and is proud to support the local economy wherever possible. By creating a Local Supplier Register, the Council hopes to expand its network of suppliers and ensure that even more local businesses have the opportunity to be considered when quotations are sought for goods, services and works.

The initiative supports the Council's commitment to fair and transparent procurement while continuing to deliver best value for residents. It will also help ensure that opportunities are shared with a wider range of local suppliers rather than relying on existing contacts alone.

The Council purchases a wide variety of goods and services throughout the year, including:

• Building maintenance and repairs
• Plumbing, electrical and heating works
• Grounds maintenance and landscaping
• Tree works
• Cleaning services
• Painting and decorating
• Signage and printing
• Office supplies
• Event equipment and services
• IT and digital services
• Catering and hospitality
• And many other goods and services.

Registering is free and does not guarantee work, but it means your business can be considered when the Council is seeking quotations in accordance with its Procurement Policy and Financial Regulations.

Businesses of all sizes, including sole traders, are encouraged to register.

To join the Local Supplier Register, simply email finance@welshpooltowncouncil.gov.uk and include:

• Email address
• Goods and/or servies provided
