Help shape your 2027 Carnival

Welshpool Town Council is inviting residents, businesses, community groups and volunteers to help shape Welshpool Carnival 2027 by attending a public meeting on Tuesday 14 July 2026 at 6.00pm in Welshpool Town Hall.

Following another successful Carnival this year, the Council is keen to build on that success and is encouraging anyone with ideas, enthusiasm or an interest in supporting one of the town's biggest annual events to come along and get involved.

Whether you have suggestions for new attractions, would like to volunteer, represent a local organisation or simply want to share your thoughts, everyone is welcome.

This year's Welshpool Carnival once again brought the community together for a fantastic day of family entertainment at Maes y Dre Recreation Ground.

The event was officially opened by Carnival King and Queen, Ariya and Keegan, accompanied by Carnival attendants Owen and Lowri, who welcomed visitors to the celebrations.

Throughout the afternoon, crowds enjoyed a packed programme of entertainment featuring the energetic Batala Bermo drummers, talented performers from Welshpool High School, dazzling routines by the Sally Gartell Academy of Dance, the impressive feats of a vintage strongman and a variety of other acts.

Visitors also enjoyed a wide selection of food vendors, craft stalls and community exhibitors, while the inflatable fun zone proved particularly popular, giving children unlimited access to a range of bouncy castles throughout the day.

Although the traditional Carnival parade did not take place this year, the event was another wonderful celebration of Welshpool's community spirit, bringing together residents and visitors of all ages for a memorable day.

Now, the Council wants to hear from you.

The public meeting on Tuesday 14 July at 6.00pm is an opportunity for everyone to have their say on the future of the Carnival. Whether your ideas are big or small, or you simply want to lend a hand on the day, your involvement could help make Welshpool Carnival 2027 the best one yet.
